Warm weather Greetings!  Dr. Brozowski is in Sun Valley Idaho for the first half of July.  There is so much to do in Idaho in summer:  the 4th of July Parade in Hailey, the Fireworks in Sun Valley, Jazz at Rotary Park, the Ice Shows and, most exciting, Ballet Sun Valley at the Pavilion!  When not at fun evening events, Dr. Brozowski is holding Office Hours at her Ketchum Office at 191 Sun Valley Road, in Suite 201, above Ketchum Works.  She has her Clear+Brilliant laser, diode laser, injectable fillers, botulinums , Kybella and Sculptra with her.  Please call us if you are interested in an appointment during July!

Lower dementia risk in fit women!

Our practice is dedicated to Cosmetic Dermatology, however, we feel compelled to share important health news for all women.  A new study published on March 14th (in Neurology) found that women who are physically fit are 90 percent less likely to develop dementia!  Researchers followed women in their 40s, tested them for fitness levels and dementia over a 40 year period; women with the highest levels of fitness developed dementia at a rate of about five percent.  In contrast, women with lower fitness had a 41% higher risk of developing dementia.  In addition, the few highly fit women who did develop dementia became symptomatic around age 90, 11 years later than the moderately fit.  So get out there and hit the gym!

WInter Symposium - Skin Aging

Dr. Brozowski is out-of-the-office this week, attending the 2018 Winter Symposium on Skin Aging, Facial Plastic & Aesthetic Surgery in Lake Tahoe.  This is the 17th Annual Meeting hosted by the California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery, and Dr. Brozowski has found this conference to be very informative in the past.  Stay tuned for new developments and techniques in facial rejuvenation!

New Year, New You -- starting in Ketchum, Idaho

Ultherapy comes to Ketchum this June!

Dr. Christine Brozowski returns to Ketchum in June and July and will bring her Ultherapy equipment with her.  Ultherapy is a non-invasive Ultrasound treatment that stimulates collagen at the level of the fascia to tighten and lift skin of the face, neck and decollete.

Dr. Brozowski will also bring her Clear+Brilliant machine to Ketchum for the first time.  Clear+Brilliant uses laser energy to stimulate collagen in the skin, providing skin turnover to freshen the skin and prevent signs of aging.

Tips to prevent bruising from injectable procedures

Here are some tips we share with out patients who have scheduled a treatment with injectables such as filler, Scuptra, Kybella or resorbable thread lift.

To Prevent Bruising:

1.       Discontinue all blood-thinners including baby aspirin, Ibuprofen*, Aleve, Fish oils and (possibly) vitamin supplements.

2.       Eat a pineapple and/or take oral Bromelain* the evening before and morning of procedure.

3.       Do not drink wine or any alcoholic beverage within 24 hours of procedure.

4.       Come in early to ice a full 15 minutes before procedure (note:  this is not for pain management, it causes vasoconstriction of blood vessels.  When vessels are smaller, there is less chance of injuring them with a needle and if punctured, they bleed less, resulting in less bruising).

5.       Ice after procedure for a full 10-15 minutes in the office, and then as much as possible over the next 24 hours.

6.       Start oral Arnica before procedure.

NEW! Clear+Brilliant Laser Treatment

We are pleased to introduce Clear+Brilliant Laser treatment to our office procedures.  Clear+Brilliant stimulates collagen, improves skin texture and pore size, rejuvenates the skin and slows the aging process.  Additionally, the Clear+Brilliant device has a Permea procedure, which treats pigmented brown sun and age spots with a different handpiece and wavelength.  There is NO downtime with Clear+Brilliant; it is truly a 'lunchtime procedure.'  Several treatments are required to achieve optimal results. NEW injectable fillers: Restylane Refyne and Defyne

We are pleased to add two new fillers to our extensive injectable filler treatment options! 

By the makers of the Restylane family, we now offer Refyne and Defyne.  These products were designed to be soft and natural-looking, especially with expression.  Refyne and Defyne are easier to tolerate, with less swelling, than the original Restylane products, and last up to one year.  Please call us to see if you are a good candidate for Restylane Refyne or Defyne!
