RF Microneedling

RF Micro-needling addresses the problem of skin laxity (loose skin) at the chin, neck, jowls and around the eyes, as well as improving the texture and tone of the whole face & décolleté. RF Microneedling is a minimally-invasive treatment that triggers the to creation of new collagen and elastin. This results in tighter skin, improved texture and firmness, and a reduction in fine lines.

RF micro-needling is a physician-operated device that adds radiofrequency energy to the traditional micro-needling procedure for enhanced collagen induction-therapy, rejuvenating the skin. The RF energy is delivered deep into the dermis via small needles to increase bloodflow and stimulate collagen. The result is skin tightening, textural improvement and acne scar reduction.

Unlike other laser microneedling devices, the RF Microneedling treatment utilized by Dr. Brozowski uses ultra-thin electrodes that create micro-channels and simultaneous release RF energy below the skin to activate the body’s natural healing process and stimulate new collagen production.

Dr. Brozowski selects the thinnest electrodes on the market (ø 0.15 mm) and uses smooth RF-assisted ablation; this means reduced pain and downtime. Dr. Brozowski customizes your treatment with needle length, density & RF energy to optimize skin tightening. All skin types benefit from RF Microneedling.

Before & After

Q&A

How does RF Microneeding work?

The RF energy heats the underlying layers of skin, causing constriction and tightening of the skin, as well as the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. Because the RF energy is delivered so deeply, it can produce faster results that are more dramatic.

What skin types tolerate RF Microneedling?

Because Radiofrequency is not limited by competing epidermal melanin, all skin types can tolerate and benefit from RF Microneedling.

What is involved in a RF Microneedling treatment?

A Typical Treatment:

  • Is performed by Dr. Brozowski, like all dermatologic procedures in our office, to ensure the utmost in safety, efficacy and uniform application to all treated areas.

  • Requires about 30 minutes for a session

  • Is tolerated without anesthetics

  • Involves dermapuncture and RadioFrequency (RF) energy heating the skin to generate collagen.

  • Uses a new, sterile microneedling tip for each patient. It is discarded post-treatment for maximum sterility and safety.

  • Ends with a topical antioxidant serum applied to the skin immediately after treatment. Some patients also like to use an ice pack to cool the face.

What are possible side effects?

  1. Immediately post-treatment, you may experience redness and mild swelling, but both typically diminish over the next 24 hours.

  2. In the first few days after treatment, you may experience skin sensitivity similar to a sunburn feeling, and some puffiness. Both are indications of the natural renewal process and dissipate a few days after the procedure.

  3. Your skin may feel rough in texture a day or two after treatment, which persists until collagen remodeling takes place. We do NOT recommend exfoliation of skin during this time.

  4. Many typical skin care products can be used immediately after treatment – our staff will talk to you about specific product recommendations following the procedure.

What is the level of discomfort during and after the treatment?

Patients tolerate the treatment comfortably, generally without any extra topical numbing. Because the doctor uses the thinnest electrodes in the market (ø 0.15 mm), this smooth RF-assisted ablation has reduced pain and downtime. Patients who are sensitive may opt to take Tylenol the morning of the treatment (ideally 30-60 minutes before treatment time). Patients can continue with their typical routine immediately after treatment.
