Did you know? -- Skin cancer is by far the most common of all cancers. The lifetime risk of melanoma in whites is 2% (less for skin of color). Melanoma accounts for less than 5% of cancer cases but causes the large majority of skin cancer deaths. Unlike other common cancers, melanoma occurs in both younger and older people, and is one of the more common cancers in young women. Keep this in mind as we enter our sunniest season here in the Bay Area. Sunscreen!
